My sister told me my cover reveal posts were too boring, so I’ll try to mix this one up by adding my opinions of the covers.

To Heal a Broken Heart by Aveline Brooke
Official book blurb:
True love’s kiss is a powerful thing. It can break a curse, or heal a broken heart.
Framed for the murder of the princess he loved, the wizard Lucien is imprisoned in his own tower and cursed to take a repulsive, snake-like appearance. His only hope of clearing his name is to break his curse by earning the love of another maiden – and to love her in return. But he wastes away, knowing that this could never happen.
Anelise has sworn off love since the betrayal of her lover, and focuses instead on running the household after her father’s ruin. When he returns from a last attempt to recover his merchant fortune with nothing but tales of a wizard in a tower who demands his daughter, she insists on complying with the wizard’s orders and returning with her father to save his life. Arriving at the tower, she finds that the wizard is not at all what she expected. When her father is suddenly taken away by a mysterious and violent man – one who threatens both Anelise and Lucien – the pair must work together to save her father.
Cover
My opinion on the cover:
This cover is simply GORGEOUS!!! The reds, the girl’s dress and hair, the roses… it’s just all so pretty! Personally, I thought this book looked more like it would match a cover for a retelling of Rapunzel, rather than Beauty and the Beast, but it is so stunning that I can’t complain one bit!!!
Lucien must battle with hope as his growing affection for Anelise rivals his notions of true love, and Anelise must reconcile with the idea that perhaps hearts can heal, love is not for swearing off, and that hope can be found in the most unlikely of circumstances.

As a royal ball arises–one in which Prince Bo must choose a bride–Ayane discovers one of Cordelia’s secrets, one that could turn the tables in Ayane’s favor. My opinion on the cover:
It’s really pretty!!! I would’ve expected the girl’s dress to reflect a bit of influence from the ballet, but I guess it’s a book not a ballet… No, this isn’t about the cover, but I am REALLY excited to read this one!!! Swan Lake is such a beautiful story. Also, I recently read and reviewed Leialoha Humpherys’ recent release Married at Sunrise, and it completely blew me away!!! (You can read my review HERE.)

To Crack a Soldier by Sarah Beran
Official book blurb:
A broken soldier. A wooden ballerina. When battle comes, can Alex use his gifts to defeat the Mouse King?
Alexander Monde may have survived the war with Brisia in one piece, but that doesn’t mean he’s not broken. His family, his home, and his friends are all gone, leaving him just a shell of the man he once was. When a mysterious visitor arrives at the army hospital the night of the winter solstice, Alex is given a gift that will change his life forever: a ballerina doll.
When midnight arrives and his ballerina comes to life, a battle ensues between the dancer and Mouse King. The mirror gateway to Faerie is broken, and Alex finds himself stranded in a new and completely unfamiliar world. Worse still, a wound from the recent battle is causing him to slowly become more and more wooden and stiff as time goes on. As the sprightly ballerina slowly begins cracking the shell of his heart, will Alex be able to find the missing pieces of the mirror and restore the gateway? Or will the Mouse King come out victorious against the wooden soldier?
Cover:
My opinion on the cover:
I appreciate the little nods to the ballet in the cover. The icy blues work together so nicely!!! The glassy texture of the font really helped communicate the wintry feel of the book! I didn’t love the music notes on the cover. Like what is that sharp sign doing there? Why aren’t the stems on the notes long enough? Yes, I’m being picky about things very few people would notice, but taking twelve year’s worth of music theory tests has to count for something!!!
Author bio:
Sarah lives in sunny southern California with her husband, two small children, and dog Pippin. An elementary music teacher by day, when she is not writing or devouring books, she spends her free time running, making music, or playing make believe.

Ahh!! I really enjoyed hearing your thoughts on the covers (lol, now I’m taking notes!) And yes, all those years of music lessons do count for something! What instrument do you play?
